Anthurium Veitchii
Rippled fronds built for dramatic, vertical impact.
Anthurium veitchii, the famed "King Anthurium", develops long, corrugated leaves that can grow impressively large in good light. Even small plants add texture and presence; mature specimens become true statement pieces in a collection of rare houseplants.
Give it bright, indirect light, warm temperatures, and steady humidity (around 60%+). Water when the top few centimetres of mix feel dry and always let excess drain; it dislikes sitting wet. A chunky aroid blend—orchid bark, perlite, and a little sphagnum—keeps roots airy. Feed lightly in spring and summer for stronger growth.
As a natural epiphyte, it appreciates a stable stake or board and gentle airflow. New leaves emerge soft and elongate as they harden, so avoid handling while they unfurl. If you’re weighing up other velvet-leaved favourites, browse our Anthurium collection.
Want a quick primer on watering, light, and humidity for aroids? See our Care Guide.
Plants will be sent bare root in moss, but those already growing in soil will stay in their pots.
Will be sent by Royal Mail Tracked 24.
